We had never been in this part of the country and didn't really know what to order. Our waitress, Chessie, made some recommendations, all of which were excellent. My husband had shrimp and alligator, which was very tender and tasty. I had chicken gumbo and the salad with two avocado halves stuffed with little shrimp.
We were both very full but decided to try the pecan pie. Oh. My. Have never tasted anything so delicious! Warm and smooth and sweet, with a crust that melts in your mouth. Wish we could stay for a few days to try more of the menu. Highly recommend this place!

We were recommended this place by a friend in Austin, and their food is absolutely magnificent!! We got the sampler and everything on it was great and plenty of food for three people. Two of us got the "Big Al's Sampler" and couldn't finish it because it was so much food. My brother got the chicken fried steak and it's literally the size of the plate and was also very good. Also, the mac and cheese is amazing! Definitely will be stopping here again whenever we pass by.
My husband and I have dined here a couple of times. Today I ordered grilled chicken with grilled veggies, side salad and green beans; my husband ordered fried catfish, mashed potatoes and fried okra. Both of our meals were very good, our food was served hot, even our tea was good. Our waitress was sweet. We had no issues. We see that the place has been remodeled, it looks good. Interior is brighter, bar area is nice. We have no complaints with the new look or the food. Good job guys!We will definitely come again next time we are in town:)
This was a real find. Great seafood and specials. Service not too bad. Easy off and easy back on the Interstate. Does an incredible lunch business. If you need a seafood fix and you are traveling between Beaumont and Houston...THIS is your spot.
